Over the past 2 years in Southern Oregon there have been recurring incidents of people going for a drive, trip or to get a Christmas tree in December when the snowstorms have been bad. Then they become lost or stranded. And just in the two weeks while we were scheduling this story, two more of these incidents occurred. So Mark Freeman’s article  about how to survive in the snow was really timely!

Most of the signs in the cartoon actually exist out there on various roads. I added the skull and crossbones sign, the We’re not kidding sign and the warning sign to Hell, made famous in Dante’s Inferno: Abandon all hope…
